Remember what I said about Clayface? Well, I lied like a lying liar; Ra's al Ghul is my favourite. He's got an amazing nose and white streaks in his hair, and he's a tree-hugger as well as a complete nut. And he gave Batman a pet name. He is pretty much the greatest.

Pop quiz, nerds: How do you prefer to pronounce his name?


Stuck this in traditional because it was inked with a brush, and the inks are more important than that digital tone junk I slapped all over it.

This is so beautiful *u* I would ask if it's alright to use for my rp account's banner (with proper credit) but like I'm not even sure if my mediocre skills compare to this piece ; v ;

Oh and in Arabic, it's pronounced: Raʾs al-Ġūl ; pretty much how it looks like BUT the "Gh" sound is something that isn't in the "Western" languages.

Rhaysh (slight emphasis on the "sh" sound; also, the slightly throaty "h" attached to the "r" sound is important) ahl Ghoul (like the preternatural beastie)

But, of course, I am a disciple of the animated series, and they were actually rather nitpicky about how his name was pronounced, so I'm inclined to believe them.

Judging by that displeased yet examining narrowing of his eyes here, I'm guessing he's just been foiled again by his favorite Detective. :dance:
